Though I promised myself I wouldn't continue to email, aka harass, the poor registrar for POL-coned Foreign Service candidates, I couldn't help myself. I emailed her this morning to ask her yet again if I made it onto the register.
At 2:26 pm today, she confirmed my register placement. (!!!!!!!!) JOY!
My timeline:
FSWE: June 2009
FSOA: January 15, 2010
Security Interview: Feb 1, 2010 (est.)
Medical Clearance: March 8, 2010
Security Clearance: July 1, 2010
Register: July 9, 2010** (5.9 POL score)
That is 5 months, 24 days from FSOA to Register (and over one year from the written exam to the register).
Tomorrow morning movers are coming to move most of our stuff into storage. Then we are off to a gay Mad Men-themed pool party in the South Bay. We will be subletting in the Castro till our move to the (b)east coast.
